Your guide to Taipei Taoyuan Airport hotels
A late arrival in Taipei, or a very early departure. Sometimes it’s just easier to sleep at or near the airport and make travelling just that bit more relaxed. Sleeping in a Taipei airport hotel gives you the stress free experience to prepare for your flight without rush-hour traffic on the metro, or in case of a late arrival it gives you the most relaxed welcome you can get in Taiwan.
When it comes to sleeping at Taipei Taoyuan Airport there are three options to choose from. There is one full service hotel on the airport premises, the Hyatt Regency Taipei Taoyuan hotel. Why choose to stay at a Taipei Airport hotel?
The Taipei MRT is amazing, it’s cheap and efficient in connecting the city and the airport from Taipei Main station A1. If it’s so easy to get into the city, why would you choose to stay at a Taipei Airport hotel?
The first train leaving in the direction of Taipei Taoyuan airport leaves in the morning at 5:30. If you have a very early morning flight that might be too late, or uncomfortably tight. The last train from T2 towards Taipei leaves at 22:55, so if your plane arrives late there is a big chance you will miss the last train.
With how busy Taipei Taoyuan airport can get, even a flight that on paper would arrive on time, might have to wait after landing, park in a remote spot and have you transported by bus to the terminal. It all works, but it will cost a lot more time that will make catching the last train very difficult.
Yes, there is the alternative of taking a taxi, but then you need to account for morning rush hour traffic and it’s easy 1500-2000 NTD one way.
If you add on top of this the stress that already comes with flying, staying at a Taipei Taoyuan Airport hotel for the first night after a late arrival, or your last night before an early flight, will make the experience a lot more relaxed and comfortable.

The Hyatt Regency Taipei Taoyuan International Airport hotel, formerly the Novotel Taipei Taoyuan Airport, is the only full service hotel on site at Taipei Taoyuan Airport. The hotel gives you private rooms, comfortable beds, a private bathroom and several amenities like a swimming pool, a gym, and onsite restaurants.
The Hyatt Regency Taipei Airport hotel is also the only hotel in Taiwan that has it’s own metro station, but there is also a free shuttle bus for hotel guests to both terminal 1 and terminal 2.

If you’re on a budget, or a solo traveller that cares more about a bed to sleep in than extra amenities like a swimming pool.
